The Game Idea Summarised

Our proposed idea is a mixed reality space that utilises either Igloo Visions 6m Cylinder or we plan to build our own Game Box. The game experience aims to stimulate the regulation of the players mind and body thorough captivating visual and sound design as well as simple playful interactions that support it.

The Aim of the Visual Design

We aim for the visual design to be a stunning display of colour, shapes and motion that stimulate the mind of the player so that they are able to unwind, release the stress in their body and focus on how they are feeling.

In my recent research I have explored how colour, shape and motion can be used to evoke feelings in the player and help to reduce the rate of their breathing and heart rate. I now intend to explore how those visuals could look and consider the potential for interaction with them.

Here is a video I have found on YouTube which aims to transfix and relax the viewer. It is a very simple video in which it seem you travelling down an endless tunnel, decorated with bright blue lights. The motion is spiralling, as if you are ever so slowly spinning through this tunnel and the video is looped so you can immerse yourself in it for as long as you like. The elements of colour, shape and motion support the research I undertook, using cool colours, spirals and slow movement.

Interaction idea: I think it could be really interesting and stimulating for the player if they were bale to simply use motion to change the direction and speed of the motion as well as manipulate the scale. Perhaps they could use actions to make lights disperse and follow a path around the room.
