Breaking into the industry

Noemi's experience:

Concept artist/comic book artist and illustrator with background in animation.

Freelancer for 10 years, worked for a book publisher (illustrating books) amongst other odd jobs.

At Playtra, the first project she started working on, was the game Grid Force, with primary focus on character design.

She is now creating comics for video games. The switch was made because she lost interest and drive in animation and character design. So through discussion and problem solving with the studio, they were able to find this new role for her.

Thanks to the environment at Playtra, she was able to make her own decisions and bring her own transformative ideas to the team and it was accepted.

When your creativity counts - a guide to surviving the industries.

Concept Advice - Do not get hung up over one single concept. You are going to be making so many and you cannot expect every single concept to be perfect - and they do not need to be! Practice, experiment and acknowledge the real expectation to limit how much you put into a single concept.
