We will be using this section to evaluate how our game will differ and offer enhancement compared to other competition. Throughout our research we came across a variety of games and experiences that explored contexts similar to ours but generally there’s nothing quite like it.

What is the game about?

Nature Treks is a Virtual Reality exploration game built to immerse players in “a world of relaxation” through atmospheric audio and customisation features. Players are able to take control over an environment of their choice and explore their surroundings. Interactions involve growing trees, summoning butterflies and utilising meditation features.

Reason for competition:

Explores similar themes of providing a relaxing environment for calming the mind and body. Method of escapism that is accessible anywhere at any time through the use of a Virtual Reality headset. It includes environmental interactions similar to the mechanics we have considered for our project.

How does “The Immersive Safe Space” differ?

We have decided to use a physical Mixed Reality space because we identified that Virtual Reality came with its accessibility drawbacks and often causes disruptions to the sense of immersion. We intend for players to visit this space with ease and comfort without the need for external devices or specialist equipment that requires extensive set-up. Additionally, we have further enhanced our experience by offering an additional application to influence self-reflection and organise their plan of action.
